Acer is one of the hottest netbook builders and not just because it has been selling lot of Aspire One netbooks, but also thanks to its plans for the future. Acer has said that it hopes to claim 50% of the netbook market next year and to do this you need to bring out something huge (not literally). Bits of information on Acer’s first step has surfaced and it is basically a larger version of the current 8.9″ Aspire One. The company president, Scott Lin, has announced it is planning to launch a 10″ Aspire One in February/March next year.
No additional information has was given at the time, but we certainly hope this one will not just blend into the crowd of 10″ models already available. Acer will need something out of the ordinary to meet with its high goals and this is course only a good thing for us, the consumers, and even if it doesn’t meet the goals in the next year, Acer will still have sold a whole lot of netbooks.
