A number of 3DMark Vantage screenshots and reports have been published over at a couple of different Chinese forums, but they have been incomplete. Futuremark then decided to release a set of authentic screenshots to squash the stories with fake pictures going around. A user over at Chiphell has now posted two benchmark results with 3DMark Vantage RC1 (build from March 26) using Radeon HD 3850 and GeForce 9600. Not that it really matters at this point, but the former comes out on top, not by much though. The application is apparently stable enough to complete runs with both cards and hopefully it won’t be long before the final version arrives.
The test system was as follows:
CPU: Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 @ 3.60GHz (400*9)
Motherboard: ASUS Maximus Formula X38
Memory: Corsair DOMINATOR TWIN2X2048-8500C5D
Harddrive: WD Raptor WD1500ADFD
PSU: PC Power & CoolingSilencer 750 Quad (Red)
Display: Dell UltraSharp 2007WFP
OS: Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate (32 bit)
Drivers: Catalyst 8.3, Forceware 174.74
