Windows
Vista has been further delayed from a launch
during the fourth quarter to January of 2007. The reason is, according to
Microsoft, security related and as it has said so many times; it will not launch
Vista until it is completely sure of that it is a complete and safe product to
use. It seems the problem is directly related to Vista’s multimedia features and
especially its Media Center functions. Up to 60% of the operating system’s code
may need to be rewritten, a huge task. Microsoft has also admitted to some
organization problems in its Windows section of the company and will reorganize
the very same. But if it will have to redo 60% of the code a delay may not be a
bad idea after all.

having to rewrite Vista’s code
