Lamborghini VX1 is suppse to be ASUS answer to Acer’s Ferrari series of portable computers. Teaming up with a highly renowned car manufacturer to sell computers is hardly a bad idea, something which Acer has proven over and over, but you have to do something serious with the name you get to be able to achieve something. At RegHardware they’ve tested ASUS Lamborghini VX1 and except from the appealing Lamborghini theme and logotype there isn’t much that lives up to the original. The performance is not very convincing with a Core Duo processor and a somewhat weak graphics circuit, but other components such as the monitor isn’t really top-of-the-line either, something which one would expect from a Lamborghini laptop.
ASUS has a promising cooperation with Lamborghini but we should wait for its Core 2 Duo models before we will see a real competitor for Acer Ferrari which in some way feels a bit more exclusive, a very important feature with these laptops.
