The new WiFi specification for wireless networks, 802.11n, is still far from its official launch date but as you perhaps know there are already many solutions which are based on the current specifications. These products can at worse case scenario be incompatible with the final specification, something which several manufacturers seem ready to risk. Now it seems that even Apple has given its supprot for the 802.11n standard in its new iMac systems as a user at MacRumors has noticed that the wireless network card of his 20″ iMac was regiested as a Broadcom 802.11n card with Windows Vista. It seems that the 802.11n specification isn’t used by Mac OS X yet, which could mean that Apple is going for a driver update later on.
