Pick any browser, none is completely safe

Even since Firefox appeared and became a strong competitor for Internet Explorer Mozilla’s browser has been considered a safer alternative than Microsoft’s ol’ IE. To most it’s pretty obvious that there are fewer harms with a browser used by a small minority. Lately, as Firefox has expanded its userbase, the security flaws have become more apparent though. What most have already realized has now been confirmed by Symantec; there are no completely safe browsers if you use any with any relevant spread. IE is still the one browser which has to put up with the most hacker attacks and harmful code, but Firefox has lately been having the most security flaws of all bigger browser.

“While Internet Explorer remains the most frequently targeted browser, accounting for 47 percent of all attacks, in the first six months of this year more vulnerabilities have appeared in Mozilla Firefox than within IE. 47 flaws were discovered in Firefox, compared with 38 for IE.”

They also discuss Opera and Marathon as signs of other popular browsers with security flaws. Now even Apple has a completely safe browser as they found 12 flaws during the testing.

Mozilla is the fastest when it comes to releasing security updates, it usually takes less than a day for an update to appear, while Microsoft usually takes about 9 days to fix the same problem.

You simply have to settle for the fact that there are flaws with all of the popular ones, but then again, this is hardly news to most people.
