Sony Ericsson MBW-100 is a pretty interesting product in several ways. Firs of it’s a wrist watch which has been launched by a mobile phone manufacturer, but what will most likely attract the most attention is the function of the watch. Except from its analog time display Sony Ericsson has equipped MBW-100 with a Bluetooth receiver and a small OLED display. The idea is to connect your watch to your mobile phone, wireless through bluetooth, and then control everything from calls and music playback through the watch while the mobile phone is still in your pocket. Something that actually sounds quite useful for those who often get calls but doesn’t have the energy to lift up the phonse each time.

Alas, it seems that you will not be able to speak into the watch as a real secret agent but MBW-100 is simply a remote for the mobile phone and if you answer you will have to use a headset or simply pick up the phone. Sony Ericsson MBW-100 clearly displays some fresh thinking and it is guaranteed to catch the interest of many through this watch. The price will be around €300, so it won’t be cheap but those who are ready to pay up should keep your eyes open during the fourth quarter.

“By adding control of your calls and music to your watch, as well as notification of text messages and a clever out-of-range notification when you are separated from your phone, the MBW-100 helps you become more efficient in your daily communication. It also makes listening to music simpler by allowing you to play, pause and skip to the next track in your phone’s music player. So, leaving your phone in your pocket and letting your watch become more than just a time keeper, means control is always to hand.”
