This is a question Anandtech asked themselves and have now published an article where they simply walk you through the motherboards for Socket 775 with support for Intel’s coming quad-core processor Kentsfield. They’ve included all of the major manufacturers and received confirmation for what boards which will support the processor and what you need, e.g. BIOS updates. From what it seems most motherboards with Intel 975X and 965 chipsets will support Kentsfield through a simple BIOS update and this is the right article to check out if you want to plan out your quad-core venture.
