Edgy Eft is the code-name for the coming Ubuntu 6.10. The Ubuntu Project has now decided that the distribution has now left the alpha development stage and entered the beta stage. This brings news and updates of course and some of these are glibc 2.4, a Linux 2.6.17 kernel, GNOME 2.16, OpenOffice.org 2.0.4rc2 and Xorg 7.1. Beware that it is still a beta but those who wants to download and try ot the new version should head over to Ubuntu and download the new version (Kubuntu here).
