Harddrives using the eSATA, external Serial ATA, interface are starting to become more and more common, men but that doesn’t necesserily mean that eSATA ports have become very common yet. Therefore it could become quite a task to connect a eSATA harddrive to your friend’s computer, something the Japanese storage manufacturer Novac has realized. It has now launched an eSATA to USB adaptor that is simply connected in between the harddrive and the computer. The harddrive’s SATA cable is connected to one end and the other is plugged into a USB slot. Very convenient and easy to use, especially as the adaptor isn’t any bigger than a regular USB memory.
Those who are feeling adventurous can actually connect up to four harddrives to the computer through a SATA hub, which is connected to the adaptor. How effective this solution is can perhaps be debated, but to those with eSATA harddrives Novac NV-US2020 is truly a tool you can’t be without. The adaptor sports both 1.5Gbps and 3.0Gbps SATA while the price is expect to be about $30. The module will be launched in Japan very soon, but we don’t know for sure if it will find its way out of there.
