PCI Special Interest Group released their final draft of version 2.0 to developers two months ago. They had 60 days to comment, and these have now almost came to an end. PCI SIG is expected to release the specifications for PCI-Express 2.0 on Monday. The big feature of this new version is better support for high-performance graphics cards that use a lot of power, something consumers are in greater need now than ever. But that’s not all, a doubling in speed for every lane from 2.5Gb/s to 5Gb/s, but also enhanced support for Virtualization is also featured.

Also co-processors gets better possibilities to communicate better with the processor, these co-processors include graphics cards, physics cards, sound cards and other cards with more or less dedicated processors.
