Playstation 3 will use Blu-ray as the primary media for its games. The storage capacity was one of the strongest reasons for Sony to integrate it; DVD simply isn’t enough, that is if you don’t mind swapping discs all the time. Many thought that this would lead to higher game prices since the error rate during the manufacturing is quite high with these discs, while it is also a very new and relatively untested piece of technology, but Sony has claimed that it will not affect prices. The price for the games in the USA has according to previous sources been set to $59.99 and now MCV says that the Japanese price will be 5980YEN.
This is equivalent to 40 euro, but you should not expect such a price when the games arrive in Europe. It will most likely be €59.99 if they follow the current trend among these companies.
