Imagination Technologies announced a while back that Intel had made a large investment in the company and would get access to its new SGX architecture. The Inquirer has now had a chat with makers of PowerVR about Intel and its new architecture. Even if Intel self hasn’t said what it’s going to use it for, it seems to for small portable units, according to Inq at least, while there is still may very well be the possibility to create DirectX 10-compitable circuits with the architecture. IT didn’t want to say exactly what this technology sports, but we know that it does have unified shaders, at least SM 3.0 and perhaps even full DirectX 10 support.
