Core 2 Extreme QX6700 is perhaps better known to us as Kentsfield. According to TGDaily this CPU’s being shipped out to system builders for testing as we speak. There will be a very limited number avaliable, featuring a Quad Core CPU with a total of 8MB L2-Cache at 2.67Ghz, finding buyers for this beast won’t be hard. Earlier VoodooPC’s founder, Rahul Sood wrote a post in his blog were he told that he’d tested the Kentsfield using their usual Haiti test method. Even if we’re a little sceptical to the test method, it showed us that Kentsfield gives really good performance and has a stunning ability to handle multithreaded applications. The CPU’s also very overclocking friendly and doesn’t run that hot, even though it’s two Conroe cores smacked together in a very small space.
