DirectX 10 becomes DirectX 9.0L for Windows XP

0

DirectX 10 was suppose to be one of the big attractions with Windows Vista, but it seems like DirectX 10 will not be unique to Vista. Instead of releasing DirectX 10 for Windows XP it will instead release DirectX 9.0L, which is basically the same thing but with a different name. The only thing missing now, if DirextX 9.0L arrives, is simply graphics cards to use it with, and games with full support for it. At the moment we have Crysis, which will require DX9.0L to work on a Windows XP machine, but behind of Crysis things are not all that exciting. There are certainly many who will be happy over Microsoft’s choice to port DX10 to XP though.
