Windows Vista RC2 was earlier made available to the public and the operating system is getting close to its final launch, which will hopefully happen before the anticipated January of 2007 for the retail market. To be able to establish an operating system you need a good support from hardware manufacturers in the form of tuned and perfected drivers. Just look at Windows XP x64 which has been anything but a success and this is much due to the lack of good drivers. In an article published at The Inquirer a few days ago NVIDIA’s graphics cards offered considerably worse performance in Vista than in XP and this is most likely to immature drivers.

The results apparently made NVIDIA react as it has now announced that it will launch a Vista RC2 drivers as early as this week. The new driver will be WHQL certified and offer better performance and compatibility with Windows Vista RC2. We’re really looking forward to how much NVIDIA can gain with the new drivers, especiall compared to Windows XP.
