As expected Intel has now presented its figures for the third quarter of 2006 and the news are both good and bad news. The third quarter has resulted in earnings of $1.3 billion and this is a significant increase from the second quarter, actually as much as 47 percent. However if we look back at the same period last year things looks a bit different, actually a drop of 35 percent during the last year. But we should mention that the sales have only gone down by 12 percent since last year, which is a result from Intel’s big price cuts.

Even if the figures are far from the best we’ve seen it managed to beat the predictions most analysts had, which states that it would only have earnings of about $1 billion to present. But there is still more to get than the earlier figures as Intel is counting on earnings of up to $9.7 billion already during the following quarter.
