Microsoft has now finally launched the final and official form of Explorer 7. IE7 is Microsoft’s answer to Mozilla Firefox which has been gnawing on Microsoft’s devastating market shares the last few years. Internet Explorer had very few competitors in the past and the browser development was therfore rather stale. But as the competition hardened, Microsoft realized that it had to something drastic and IE7 is the result from this new burst of energy from Microsoft. We have for a long time been reporting about the new browser and most functions and news have already mentioned.

But Microsoft has left few things untouched and amongst others it has created a considerably safer browser´, but also spent a lot of time on refurbishing the interface and new functions, such as tabs and more. Everything you might want to know about IE7 can be found at Microsoft’s website and those who wants a third-party judgment can turn to Paul Thurrott’s review at Winsupersite.

“Certainly, most major Web sites have already been upgraded to work correctly with Microsoft’s latest Web browser. I’ve had a field day in the past making fun of IE, but with IE 7, the browser has finally turned the corner. This is one product that Microsoft should be quite proud of. My only question, really, is what took them so long? Seriously, download it now. Highly recommended.”
