Shuttle continues to develop new SFF barebones and some time ago it launched its new T series, which is a bit different from its other SFF barebones as it comes with a tower design. The Shuttle T series is based on the NanoBTX formfactor and the design of the case is thus a bit different from the rest. The first model of the series, SS31T, has now been blessed with a sibling called SS21T, which uses a SiS chipset and is for AMD’s processor platform. It’s the processor support that separates the two as SS31T is for Intel’s 775 platform. The T series is geared toward the office segment market, bot to those who are tired of the cube design this could be an interesting alternative.
Shuttle SS21T will be available as of today, but we don’t know at what price. The predecessor SS31T costs $150 and we assume the SS21T will cost about the same. Considerably cheaper than most of Shuttle’s cube model, but then again you don’t get any heatpipe cooling or similar.
