We have at several occasions reported about the Blu-ray format and the problems it has with getting enough optical components for making the laser component of the Blu-ray players. Now the company Wicked Laser has launched a new laser pen which is truly thorn in the side for those who can’t get a hold of a Blu-ray player. Wicked Lasers has namely launched a Blu-ray laser pen which uses the laser optics found in stationary Blu-ray players. The components are simply collected by buying and gutting Blu-ray players, very expensive and pretty unnecessary one would think.

But to laser enthusiasts this is just right and those who are eager to buy a Sonar pen will have to pay 1,999 USD. Spending two thousand dollars on a pen sounds quite extraordinary, but the new blue laser technology is far from cheap and especially not as they have to gut Blu-ray players to get the components. The optics is housed in an exclusive aluminum casing of very high quality. The lasers Wicked Lasers supplies can hardly be compared to those you can find in the local gadget stores and at careless use even be dangerous.
