Nintendo Wii was launched just a few days ago and as PlayStation 3 was a rare sight, Wii has been quite easy to get a hold of. Wii can thus be found in the homes of many video games enthusiasts all over the globe, but not everyone is interested in just playing games. At Popular Science Blog they namely decided to tear the console apart to see what hides beneath the shell. The project became a lot trickier than first anticipated, mainly because of Nintendo’s special screws and the console had to be considered a goner at the end. But at least they got a thorough view of the hardware and a nice picture gallery as a reward.
Nintendo Wii is physically smaller than its competitors and the hardware used isn’t as advanced as the one in Xbox 360 and PS3, but that doesn’t exactly lower the interest for what components that might be hiding inside.
