Wii has had a mixed launch. While the console has been received by the people just how Nintendo hoped they would there have been some technical issues, we don’t know how common they are though, but they haven’t discouraged people from buying more consoles. Slashdot now reports that hackers have started to target Wii’s online service and try to hack it. They’ve been able to find a quite simple route into the WiiShop and whether this will lead to any actual “exploits” of the service or the possibility to download games for free remains to be seen, but Nintendo has already found a way to block these routes and will most likely do anything it can to stop any piracy of the Virtual Console.
