Ubuntu 6.10 “Edgy Eft” tested

Ubuntu 6.10 “Edgy Eft” is the latest version of the popular linux-based operating system Ubuntu. The updates since version 6.06 LTS are mainly that they’ve chosen to upgrade to gnome 2.16, Firefox 2.0 and Novell Evolution 2.8, and include Tomboy and F-Spot. They’ve optimized the booting process, the desktop and the graphics in large, the icons specifically. At SoftwareInReview they’ve taken a closer look at the latest official version of Ubuntu and even if they are impressed by Edgy Eft as a free alternative they feel there is still a lot to do to catch up with commercial solutions such as Mandriva.
