NVIDIA is one of the most prominent chipset manufacturers on the market and after AMD’s acquisition of ATI we can now guarantee you that Intel will focus a lot more on NVIDIA. NVIDIA has now revealed its plans for its future chipsets for the Intel platform and at HKEPC they’ve managed to dig up some more, delicious details on the manufacturer’s coming integrated graphics circuits. The next integrated graphics core for Intel’s platform will be launched during the second quarter of 2007, code-named MCP73, and it’s a single-chip solution to keep the production costs at a minimum.

Graphics circuit is based on the GeForce 7300 circuit and supports HDMI/HDCP, 1066MHz FSB, SATA-300, single-channel DDR2-667 and much more. It doesn’t seem to be focusing on the performance segment but as expected it’s smaller multimedia systems and office computers which are the targets.

But NVIDIA is also planning an integrated chipset called MCP79 that is expected to bring support for 1333MHz FSB and house a GeForce 8-based graphics circuit. This chipset is not expected to appear until the start of 2008 and then based on a new and more efficient manufacturing process.

NVIDIA is namely said to be working on a 55nm process, together with TSMC, for its chipsets. The first test circuits are expected to be ready at the start of 2007 but the mass production of the 55nm circuits is not expected to begin until 2008. More information about NVIDIA’s coming chipset can be found at HKEPC.
