Microsoft launched Zune about a month ago and many were those who thought that it would rumble the market. Zune had been praised as much in previews published before the launch as it has been condemned by reviewers and customers after the launch. Many of the actual consumers are unable to see the pros of the players but instead see the disadvantages, such as that it doesn’t work with iTunes. Zune has instead of becoming a competitor to iPod, ending up right next to Creative and its Zen players and the rest of the segment which are struggling for those extra decimal shares of the market, but Microsoft is keeping its cool and says that, just like with Xbox, it’s a longterm investment.
