Intel Core 2 Q6600 was uncovered earlier today by Intel during CES Las Vegas, but already the first (?) review of the processor has appeared. Core 2 Quad Q6600 comes with, separating it from bigger brother QX6700, a locked multiplier and a somewhat lower frequency, 2.4GHz. TechSpot has tested the processor and compared it to bigger brother but also Core 2 Extreme X6800 and the tests reveals nothing but the expected. Just as previous reviews of QX6700 have shown it all comes down to that the software has to catch up to the number of cores. The new processor costs about $850 today, but will become cheaper soon.
