We earlier reported about how Xbox, Wii and Playstation 3 sold during the Christmas season and now that completing reports and comments have appeared it seems that the market for video games is more open and lucrative than ever before. Microsoft has shipped over 10 million consoles worldwide, Sony over a million to the USA, while Nintendo was aiming for 4 million total (there is no concrete information yet). We hardly have to emphasize that the party who has made the boldest statements is Sony which already have proclaimed itself the winner and according to Sony it will ship 6 million consoles before April. This figure is way higher than the expected and should be carefully considered, but if it’s right we can only hope that at least a few find their way to Europe.
