Even if Core 2 Duo gets most of the overclockers’ attention nowadays this doesn’t necessarily mean that they’ve abandoned the older Pentium 4. OC Team Italy has earlier published some very promising results with a Pentium 4 631 (3.0GHz) and has now, finally, thrown some liquid nitrogen on the processor. With an unmodified ASUS P5B and only 1.6V they’ve managed to push the processor to 7520MHz. A tiny bit from the world record at 7657MHz, but then there should be more to expect. Even they don’t say so themselves, 8GHz is hanging in the air and if there is anyone that will be able to do it, it’s them.
