Apple’s profit up by 78%

Apple has now released the figures for the last quarter of 2006. The Christmas season is usually Apple’s best season so it didn’t come as a surprise that the company had done well, but that it would report a revenue of $7 billion and net profit of 1 billion was not as expected. This is a 78% increase, compared to the same quarter the year before. A lot of the profit was due to record sales of its portable media players, iPod, while its Mac series had also done well. The fact is, Apple sold over 21 million iPods during this period.
