The Prada Phone has now been launched by LG after that some controversies arose after that Apple launched iPhone. The Prada Phone is namely based on KE850. A phone which started to appear in rumor circles about a month ago when the phone, among others, won a design award. LG is thus in conflict with Apple over iPhone which appeared after KE850, a conflict which hardly surprises anyone considering how strikingly similar the two are. But still, LG’s phone comes with features that makes it more than well competitive and considering it is finished and ready to be launched now already it should be able to attract more than a few buyers, a long time before Apple has been able to launch iPhone.
LG has been working hard on the design together with Prada and we have to say that it is looking very stylish. Only 12mm thick and with a media player that sports the audio formats MP3, ACC, ACC+, WMA, RA and the video formats MPEG4, H.263, H.264 there some good possibilities for using The Prada Phone as a media player as well. The phone comes with a built-in document handler that can handle ppt, doc, xls, pdf and txt-files and to top it all off, a 2Mpixel-camera.
“The PRADA Phone by LG introduces the world’s first advanced touch interface which eliminates the conventional keypad making the overall usage experience a highly tactile one. An extra wide LCD screen maximizes visual impact, allowing the user to benefit from several key features of the phone, including the 2 megapixel camera featuring Schneider-Kreuznach lens, video player and document viewer capacity. Above all, these features contribute to the phone’s beautifully sleek and simplistic appearance.
Glowing icons on the face of the phone disappear when not in use to reveal a pure, un-adulterated black exterior. The phone is ultra thin (just 12 mm), nonetheless it hosts an array of additional multimedia functions, including an MP3 player and a music multitasking function for messaging. It also boasts an external memory slot, allowing the user to increase memory capacity for images, music and film clips.”
The focus is of course on the touchscreen and the operating system it uses. A system which makes it possible to work without a set of keys or specific pens.
The price of a designer phone with these features? 600 euro.
