Viewsonic has now launched a new DLP projector with a somewhat odd feature, it can namely dock with Apple’s iPod media player. Viewsonic has already launched LCD monitors with an integrated docking station for Apple iPod, but now it has taken this one step further. Viewsonic PJ258D was shown at CES in Las Vegas and now Viewsonic has officially launched the new DLP projector. The projector has a resolution of 1024×768 pixels and a contrast ratio at 2000:1, but to be honest it’s the iPod support we’re mainly interested in.
By docking with your iPod you can play movies and slideshows directly from your iPod without having to connect an external computer. The projector, of course, also has other inputs such as VGA and S-video, but for the real iPod enthusiasts this is an interesting product. Viewsonic PJ258D is expected to arrive during the second quarter costing $1,399.
