ASUS A8Jr debuts with the Radeon X2300 graphics circuit

ASUS A8Jr is the first laptop on the market which rely on ATI’s Mobility Radeon X2300 graphics circuit. The new circuit is a part of ATI’s new X2x00 series and will according to ASUS use HyperMemory technology and be Windows Vista and Aero certified. In the press release about A8Jr there is no specific details about ATI’s new graphics circuits but if previous rumors are correct this is a DirectX 10-capable graphics circuit. If so, ATI is apparently close to launching its first DirectX 10-based graphics circuits, something that will become a lot more important now that Windows Vista is about to arrive.



ASUS A8Jr use Intel’s 945PM chipset and sports Intel’s mobile Core 2 Duo processors. Other specifications include a 14.1″ display, integrated WLAN and Bluetooth support, etc.


“There is an ever-increasing demand for higher graphic processing power and crisper graphics for entertainment and applications alike,” says David Cummings, director of marketing, Graphics Products Group, AMD. “Our answer to that demand is the X2300 GPU. This GPU utilizes patented technology to increase processing power and provide the user with smooth, realistic hi-resolution graphics.”
