We reported a while back about how Dell had launched both desktops and laptops in China with Linux instead of Microsoft Windows. Dell has now chosen to launch this concept outside of China. Dell is very careful in its description of the systems though and points out that they can be had with Linux or no operating system at all, but Dell also writes that it doesn’t offer any customer support on any systems it hasn’t installed. The available models are based on the Dimension series, but with an n-suffix. The computers are delivered with FreeDOS instead of Windows XP. Other than the the models (E520, E521 and C521) are identical to the regular packages.
