Koolance is known for its external water cooling kits and large assortment of water cooling products. Now it has expanded this even further by launching its latest creation; a power supply, but not just any power supply. Koolance has namely developed a massive 1200W power supply cooled by water. Koolance PSU-1200ATX-12S offers a continuous output power at 1200W and distributes 96A over four 12V rails, modular cables and four PCI Express connectors. A water-cooled power supply at 1200W is truly unique, but Koolance solution is a bit unexpected.
There is no holding back here as it has chosen to fill the entire power supply with a non-conductive fluid surrounding all components capable of dissipating heat. The heat is transferred away to the external radiator and thus keeps the temperature at bay.
“Being self-cooled, Koolance’s 1200W PSU requires no connections to any other type of cooling system. The unit comes pre-filled and no ongoing coolant maintenance is required. The quiet 120mm LED fan is temperature-controlled and operates between 25-33dBA. An included temperature sensor allows internal monitoring when used with compatible Koolance systems (TMS, RP-1000, PC3-700, Exos-2, and PC4-1000 series).”
The power supply is quite large, a length at 23cm and the radiator, which seems to be installed outside the case. Koolance has certainly developed a unique power supply with PSU-1200ATX-12S and the question is if it performs as well as it sounds. The price at 499.99 USD will probably discourage some buyers though.
