Sony was the completely dominant actor on the video game market during the last era, but this will now change according to analysts at IDC. As we’ve previously speculated IDC agrees that we will most likely have a market divided into three parts where Sony is the big loser, Microsoft has managed well through its early launch and Nintendo made a tactical move by not competing directly performance-wise with the others. IDC believes that Nintendo will be able to ride the wave of success far into 2008. But after that the future is a bit more uncertain and it’s mainly Microsoft’s position that seems to cause the biggest headaches.
