Intel‘s Larrabee project is the processor manufacturer’s first big venture for a discrete graphics circuit and even if Intel hasn’t revealed anything, new details surface every day. The latest rumor says that Intel has been to Germany and spoken with several leading memory chip manufacturers to tie connections and make partners before its graphics card venture. According to The Inquirer, Intel has spoken with manufacturers about GDDR5 circuits with 512MB and 1GB density, which points to nothing less than a high-end circuit. The first prototypes of Larrabee are expected to appear during the second half of 2008 which means that a lot will have happened until then, but we certainly hope learn more about Larrabee before then to really find out what Intel is going for.
