AMD is currently working on a special graphics card solution. Hexus reports about the project called Lasso and it has some similarities with ASUS’ XG Station we reported about earlier on. It is simply a device for connecting a regular graphics card to a computer through cables. Just like XG Station it is nice complement for those who wants a bit more 3D power with its laptop, but AMD seems to be planning a bit more than that. Its Lasso platform will namely support multiple graphics cards and would thus be able to create an external CrossFire platform. This isn’t just interesting for gaming fanatics but also for GPGPU applications, something AMD has started focusing a lot more on lately through its stream computing concept.
