Microsoft has presented a new licensee the days after that the European Commission accused Microsoft of charging too much for its licenses for protocol handling communication between Windows and other server operating systems. Quest Software is a company specializing in helping other building bridges between IT systems to make things flow as undisrupted as possible. Quest Software will pay Microsoft royalties at 5.25% for products using the protocols. Microsoft also says that it is negotiating with several other companies wanting to acquire licenses for its protocol and Microsoft says that this really shows that it does not charge too much. It still hasn’t made a direct reply to EC’s accusations, but there is still a month to go before it has to.
