Kingston DataTraveler Reader may look like just any kind of USB memory, but as the name reveals there’s something more to it. DataTraveler Reader isn’t just a place to put your files, but it also supports external storage cards, in other words it’s a card reader. The card reader supports SD/MMC flash memory cards, which can be found at capacities up to 4GB. With a regular USB2.0 connector in the one end you can easily plug it into any computer and move data between locations without complications.

“When inserted into a computer’s USB port, the DataTraveler Reader is assigned two drive letters (for example, G:\ and H:\). One drive letter is assigned to the Reader’s internal storage while the other is designated for the expansion slot. Users can quickly and easily work with both drives to either transfer files to the computer or between the USB drive and the Flash memory card inside the DataTraveler Reader.”

Kingston says that 1GB and 2GB models of DataTraveler Reader will be available at the end of March costing 19.99 USD and 34.99 USD respectively. The larger 4GB model isn’t expected to arrive until the second quarter.
