Asetek continues down its new path and launches new products with a focus on the OEM market. Exotic cooling like phase change and water cooling have always been Asetek’s main products and its latest project is no exception, even if the new one is a bit more subtle. Now that it is working with the OEM market in mind, it’s not extreme performance that is the highest priority but a high performance/price ratio and a high reliability. Asetek new OEM product is a specially designed cooler for NVIDIA’s and AMD/ATI’s graphics card using a hybrid technology; both air and water cooling. The new cooler is a part of Asetek’s LCLC series (Low Cost Liquid Cooling) and will be available May 1st, 2007.
Just like the first water cooling kit of Asetek’s OEM series the cooler is not for the retail market, but Asetek claims that a number of system builders will use its new graphics card cooler, which will result in both lower temperatures and less noise.
“Compared to an OEM stock cooler the Asetek graphics card cooler will provide approximately 15˚C lower temperatures on both memory and GPU providing excellent margins for higher clock speeds and lower noise. Even in hot ambient conditions the noise level will never exceed 30 dB(A).”
