Corsair is known for its high performance memories and not the least for its unique heatspreader designs. We’ve seen both Pro and Xpert series with LED heatspreaders, but these seem to be a thing of the past. According to Bit-Tech, Corsair has decided to stop the manufacturing of flashy heatspreaders. We know for certain that the XMS2-Pro series will lose its LED modules as Corsair will use its DHX cooling for the new XMS2 modules. The technology behind Corsair’s DHX cooling is more like the one used with regular heatsinks than heatspreaders and it therefore chooses to call them precisely that; heatsinks. The launch date for the new XMS2 modules that will all carry the new DHX cooling is yet to be announced.
