Palm has been looking for a buyer for a while now and several suggestions have appeared along the line. First it was Nokia that was suggested as a potential buyer of the handheld manufacturer, but now it seems that Motorola, which is going through a reconstruction and is in need of fresh products, is the company closest to acquiring Palm. This would lead to that Motorola can broaden its product portfolio, but in the long run you need fresh thinking and a strong R&D to really make it. There are other companies lurking in the background, among others Microsoft, which could also be in the venture of acquiring Palm.
