Intel’s new mobile platform Santa Rosa will be launched later this Spring, but already we’re hearing news of what will come next and replace Santa Rosa. During the first half of 2008 Intel will launch an update of Santa Rosa and the most important part of the update will be the support for the 45nm Penryn architecture. Stationary processors with the Penryn architecture is expected to arrive in 2007 but the first mobile models will appear first in 2008. Intel also says that the demands from enthusiasts and more demanding computer users have reached the mobile platform whereas it is planning a more overclocking-friendly processor for the mobile market.
