SanDisk Sansa Shaker – cheap and hip for the young ones

SanDisk is one of the hottest manufacturers of MP3 players at the moment and it is constantly launching new players. The latest to arrive is the SanDisk Sansa Shaker, where the name is quite revealing. SanDisk’s new player is intended for children and youth, which is emphasized by the pink and blue color themes. The player has a pretty simple design with out a display or any cool materials, which is also reflected by the price. SanDisk Sansa Shaker costs a mere 39.99 USD and uses external SD memory cards to store music. Except from the dual headphone outputs and the integrated speaker, Sansa Shaker has a pretty unique and exciting feature; you can shake the player to jump to the next song.

“Changing songs on the player is a snap – or rather, a shake. Young music lovers can impress their friends by shaking the device to jump to another song, or use a simple controller band for moving forward and back through their song library. A second band manipulates volume.”

Sansa Shaker is hardly any mainstream player but SanDisk soon has specific products for every segment of the MP3 player market and the question isn’t if but how much SanDisk will gain on Apple. That a pink shaking player would be the key to success is perhaps a bit brave to suggest, but it really reflects SanDisk’s ambitions.
