Art Lebedev studios has now announced the time plan for Optimus and it seems that the first 200 keyboards will arrive on November 30. It will then cost $1,564. Before they can start mass producing the keyboard it has to go through testing to live up the CE, FCC, WEE and ROHS certifications, which could, worst case scenario, prolong the process even further. The first prototype is expected to be ready in August and with its the first public demonstration of the keyboard.

Until then you can ponder on whether you think it’s worth spending more than $1,500 on a keyboard because there will only be 800 keyboard until January 2008. On May 20 you will be able to pre-order the Optimus Maximus.
