Intel decides to introduce Bearlake earlier than expected

0

Intels first DDR3 capable chipset, the Bearlake series, will be introduced this month. Earlier Intel scheduled the date of the launch to the 24’Th of May, but according to The Inquirer that date has been changed. The new date is according to the Inquirer the 9’Th of May, fifteen days ahead of schedule. The reason seems to be that the motherboard manufacturers has got the production up and running in good time and just like we reported some days ago, several P35 motherboards has been sighted in local offices here in Sweden. The most interesting thing now is how the DDR3 will compete against the DDR2 in terms of performance. Most of us remember that DDR2 had severe problems competing against DDR “back in the days”, and it wouldn’t come as a surprise to us if we see a similar scenario here.
