It’s been a while since we heard anything from Intel and its coming 45nm processors and the 6×50 series with a 1333MHz bus, but we’ve received some new reports that points to that Intel is working like never before. Wolfdale and Yorkfield are the two coming processors that are suppose to kill off AMD’s launch of its new dual- and quad-core processors Kuma and Agena. Wolfdale is the dual-core processor that will go up against AMD Kuma and according to a report by TGDaily; Wolfdale is in its last phase of testing and should be ready to be shipped out to system builders, and perhaps us, at the end of the summer. Yorkfield seems to require a bit more work is not suppose to arrive until the fourth quarter, but this varies between sources.

We can confirm however that Intel will do what it can to interfere with AMD’s launch. The Penryn-based processors aside, Intel also has the new 6×50 series that should arrive even before AMD will launch the new K10 series.
