IBM has been ravaged by rumors of some quite massive layoffs where up to 150 000 employees would lose their jobs. This would mean a reduction of close to 40% of the workforce and actually more employees than IBM has in the entire USA. Well now an internal answer to this blog entry has leaked and just like the analysts said, 150,000 is a figure without any substance. There is simply no way IBM can fire that many people without any serious consequences for the organization.
