Microsoft’s first portable media player Zune has now reached a milestone of 1 million sold units. This was revealed by Robbie Bach in an interview with SF Chronicle. Robbie Bach is the head of Entertainment and Devices division, responsible for Zune and Xbox. Microsoft is aiming for 10 percent of the harddrive-based market, which they consider a good start but not a gigantic step. Robbie Bach doesn’t mention anything about a coming flash-based Zune, but we can probably expect that Microsoft will keep developing its portable media player at a rapid pace. A must if it wants to catch up to Apple that just sold its 100 millionth iPod.
