Radeon HD 2900XT can get rather hot if you start to push up the frequencies and those who’ve invested in AMD’s new graphics card flagship most likely know that the cooling is very important. During the development of R600, we heard rumors of hybrid coolers using both air and water, but we also saw pictures of R600 cards using only water cooling. Cooling manufacturer CoolIT has now displayed a new water cooling kit for Radeon HD 2900 XT CrossFire and it looks quite a lot like the pictures of water-cooled reference cards we spotted a while back, a block that will hardly win any beauty contests.
According to the manufacturer, CoolIT Systems Reference 2900 Liquid Cooling System will offer plenty of cooling at a competitive price. Radiator, pump and other components are housed in a device that is installed into two 5.25″ slots.
“Even better, the CoolIT Reference 2900 Liquid Cooling System will be available for end users to fit themselves, as well as to buy ready-fitted in pre-built systems. And we’ve been told the price for this cracking bit of cooling kit is going to be extremely competitive… so check back soon for more.”
Affordable water cooling kits are always welcome and Radeon HD 2900XT will certainly not complain about some more and better cooling.
